I forget but my LO started eating every 3-4 hours around 3-4 months and now at almost 7 months it's more like 3-5 hours and 6-7 hours overnight. I still get up to nurse him b/c I don't want to pump; but half the time he wakes me up to eat. It does get better and better. I think it depends on how well your LO sleeps. If he naps a long stretch he'll eat at the 4-5 hour mark. At last that's been the case with both of my boys.

I think around 3-6 weeks they go through a growth spurt and after that she really seemed to get the hang of nursing. She still ate every two hours but it only took 20 minutes to feed her. It wasn't until about 3-4 months that she started with consistent 3 hour stretches between feedings.

DD is 2 weeks old and is eating every 2 hours. She loves to breastfeed so she is usually feeding for at least 45 minutes each session leaving only 1 hour between each feediung. At night she will sometimes stay on the breast for 1.5 hours and still want to eat again 30 minutes later. Needless to say I am exhausted! She is such a good baby she just really loves to nurse. When did your LO start spacing out feedings?
