Started a lot around 21 months. We calmly say to him, yes and enforce what ever it is. Always avoid arguing with them. Don't engage in the back and forth. I HIGHLY recommend Love and Logic books and videos for help with learning how to do this. It's wonderful!<br /> Eta for example, last night I said you will need to clean up your toys. He said no. I said yes and I gave him a choice (another love and logic technique) yes you have to clean up your toys, I said. He thought it was funny because he said no to everything. We would ask "do you want ice cream" and things like that and he would say no.
