He has mini tantrums now at 11 months if we take away things he shouldn't be playing with...or if he can't reach something that he really wants. He'll whine incessantly and he even threw himself on the floor and rolled around the other day.

I think mild ones at 11-12 months. I haven't seen anything too bad yet but I'm sure they will start soon.

We had a lot of mini tantrums too, but I think the full out ones started around 15 or 16 months! It was around the same time for DD and DS. But still they are nothing like the older tantrums you speak of.. can't wait.. :-(

@Mrs. Bee: maybe Olive has started early because she's seen Charlie do it? A is too young for tantrums yet but I remember my nieces doing them from quite young so am sure we'll get our fair share!

LO started about 2 months ago, at 11 months. It's gotten worse since she's turned 1.

DD started around 11 months? The most common times are if you put her down too soon after she wakes up from a nap and when she wants to go outside. Oooooh I'm dreading it as she gets older. LOL

DD is 7.5 months old and is so frustrated with trying to crawl that we do get a few mini tantrums here and there but she gets over them very quickly. I shudder to think about what lies ahead.

I think the second ones learn from the first. :/

DD had occasional mini tantrums at around one and full out tantrums at 16-18 months. She' s been pretty good since she turned 2 (2.5 now). DS has been throwing mini tantrums since he was 7/8 months old. I think he's been watching his big sister.

J's 13 months and has one toy that he gets especially frustrated with. He can't get the piece out of the bottom chute (it's actually pretty hard, I totally understand his frustration, haha). He gets so mad, he kicks the toy, lays on his back and just yells. It's pretty funny now but if/when those tantrums get bigger and louder, I'm sure I'll feel differently!

Tantrums get worse as your LO gets older, stronger, more verbal and Charlie has had some whoppers. The 2's were pretty good and he'd have 1-2 tantrums a week. But about a month before he turned 3, tantrums, whining, and generally not listening became almost a daily thing.

Lately Olive has started throwing tantrums too! She will cry, scream, roll around on the ground (since she can't walk)... Charlie's tantrums didn't start until he was much older (over 2) Olive is 16 months. She's always thrown little mini fits, but she got over them really quickly. It's in the past couple of days that she's been throwing full out tantrums.
