And even then, it had to be thick congee style rice porridge so it wouldn't go sliding off the spoon all over the place. She became proficient at it around 15 months. She eats her own yogurt with a spoon now and spears things with a fork. Only the adult fork will do. Sigh. His infant room introduced it very early. She usually just holds it and eats with her hands. The last couple weeks she is using a fork more, but most of the time holds it and eats.
