Dd still sometimes refuses to use utensils at 2.5 although she can use them. She took awhile to learn, though. She can finish about half a yogurt or some cottage cheese (sticky foods) but it isn't fast enough for her liking so she'll throw the spoon and finger eat the rest. She was very insisting and would take ours. So we just gave her one and she figured it out and she's used it ever since. She still looks ridiculous with full sizes utensils. I continued to put food on it, handing it back and she would get it into her mouth more times than not. She just turned one so I'm not going to attempt this quite yet other than for fun but it got me curious when your LO started to use utensils with most meals. </p>
