They were super neat to have in the diaper bag as an emergency food. Around 11 months we were out for a stroll in the wagon, and I was collecting apples from local trees to make a pie. She picked one up, started eating it, and I basically never looked back. It was nice to know that I had shelf stable fruit at the ready, though. All the emergency stuff I have stashed in my purse now is cookies and raisins. It was tough to go to thicker, chunkier purees.
