DS is about 8.5 months, and daycare asked me to stop sending purees to school because he wasn't a fan of them. He would however, gobble up whatever solids they gave him. Works for me!

Okay! This is why I love HB. So hard to know what's normal. I will definitely start sending her with more finger foods!

@jessibear: Hahaha. This cracked me up. I have so had some moments like that!

we did a combo of BLW and purees as well. around 9 or 10 months, daycare suggested that we stop bringing in purees so that LO could eat just finger food. there were a handful of times after that where we gave him purees for convenience (like when we traveled), but otherwise it was almost all finger food. you just reminded me that i have to give our unused purees and pouches to a friend.

at 9 months she started eating 99% table food. Besides the occassional pouch. At 12 months she still eats pouches. Mostly when she won't eat her dinner and to make sure she gets veggies and fruits since she is so picky.

Around 8-9 months she mostly ate real food and would get a purée pouch to top off her meal. Sometimes she would have half a pouch and sometimes she would finish the pouch. As she got older I would increase the amount of table food. But there were still days she would eat half of a pouch a meal and sometimes more. I stopped offering purée pouches right around her first birthday

C is an eating machine. I think around 9-10 months we switched to all real food full time. I remember it hit me like a ton of bricks the first morning we were headed out of the house to drop her at the sitter and I had no idea how/what to send with her to eat. I panicked and sent a packet of instant oatmeal (low sugar, at least!) and a can of peas. Yep. This has probably been my proudest mom moment to date. I think her sitter thought I was NUTS when I dropped her off, but she just went along with it. I will say, having her on real food now has made me a much better/more frequent grocery shopper and now I love packing her lunches!

10 months he was done except an occasional pouch. Once he went to the movers room at daycare at 9 months they required him to work on eating finger foods for lunch and snack.

Around 9 months it became a battle and we started offering pouches and easy self-feeding foods like chunks of cheese, puffs, chunks of bananas, etc.

He's a year now and still occasionally will eat a jar or a pouch but he's much more interested in the stuff he can pick up himself.

If you did a combo of BLW and purées, or just all purées to start, when did you stop?

We are doing a combo of BLW and purées and I am just wondering when I should start sending food she can eat on her own to daycare. Aside from puffs, she has only eaten purées at school. She is 10 months.
