LO 1 fell in love with a stuffed animal at 2.5. LO 2 was 2 when she picked out a special animal from big sister's collection.

At almost 10 months, they don't really have a particular lovey. They have about 6 things in their crib and more scattered around the house. Maybe that's why they aren't attached to anything because we have so many chewy things all over the house.

DD took to hers almost right away after we introduced it at 4.5 months. It's a little Jellycat dinosaur. She developed a habit of twirling its arm around her finger as a self-soothing ritual when she's falling asleep. We can hand her the dino almost any time if she's upset and she'll grab it and calm down a little bit.

LO got attached to a stuffed giraffe around 10 months. Now he has a different stuffed animal that he likes. He's had it since last summer, but has become even more attached in the last two months. His kitty has to go absolutely everywhere with him. He's turning two at the end of this month.

My oldest got attached to her ducky young, maybe 6-7 months? She will be 3 in July and she would be devastated if she lost it. Unfortunately you can't buy them anymore :( ( well, unless I wanted to spend like $200 for one on ebay!)

My youngest is 14 months and has never taken to anything!

@LuLu Mom: This may not be the same thing but over the past few weeks our 4.5 month old seems to know it's time to nap if I give him one particular bunny! So I am liking this! Haha.

I'd say maybe 6 months? Definitely by 8 or 9. Both my kids are very attached to their lovies. And they both like to chew/suck on them.

My daughter never took to one. She had a pacifier and that was more of her lovey than anything. My son took to his lovey around 10 months. He loves snuggling it!

my 2 year old isn't particularly attached to any one lovey in particular. she has a bunch in her crib that she cuddles with while she's falling asleep, but she rarely takes them out. she doesn't take any to daycare, though they have stuffed animals there that I'm pretty sure she sleeps with. Honestly she's more attached to my hair than any of her loveys, but obviously she doesn't take that everywhere :silly:

@LuLu Mom: My DD is the same age and doesn't seem to really care about her lovey that much and like you said it often end up at the other side of the crib. I will say in the last couple of days I have noticed her paying more attention to it so I just keep giving t to her in the hopes that she eventually decided she "loves" it :silly:

I think after she weaned around 9 months (she has had it since at least 6 months). She got more and more attached and now at 16 mo lovey is with her all the time!

Our oldest has loved her "bankie' since about 12 months but our youngest is 12 months and could careless about any item. I've tried to give her a lovey and it's usually in the other corner of the crib or on the ground when we wake up. I honestly think her "lovey" is her thumb (not loving this and hoping to replace that thumb with something else to soothe her!)
