It too 3 days of no nursing to heal enough to get back on it. It was a very frustrating 3 days as we still nurse on demand &amp; P doesn't take milk from anywhere but the tap. :/</p> <p>Glad you got past your injury &amp; things are going better!!!! LO is 5 weeks and we are doing great! Things got much better at 4 weeks and are now virtually pain free. I didn't think I'd ever say this but I sometimes even enjoy nursing!</p> <p> The LC, APNO, and ensuring a good latch every time were key for us. Thanks for all the great advice on this thread. Severe cracking on both nipples - so bad I even asked the doc about stitches for them! Think we had thrush too. After APNO, vinegar solutions, GSE solutions, and all sorts if nipple ointments and balms... I kind I quit using anything cold turkey and her latch got a lot softer around that time too. It just healed and I realized one day it didn't hurt anymore! Hang in there! I also hugely recommend Motherlove nipple cream or plain old coconut oil. I think time is the biggest factor in healing though. She's been latching from the beginning, just not very well, and we did some damage to my nipples - cracks, some scabs. Plus the whole area is just sore. I've seen an LC twice and I think we're on our way to fixing the latch. Right now I still dread feedings but the pain is only bad when she latches on - it is still really excruciating though, for those first few seconds.</p> <p>If anyone experienced anything similar - how long did it take for your nipples to heal? Right now I feel like they are getting slowly better but it seems like they'll never be pain free. </p>
