His was pretty severe Ihe spit up all the time and out of his nose too). We just noticed one day that he started spitting up way less, so we decided to try and cut out the meds (we used Zantac). But don't be scared of weaning. It could be good. He started the prilosec even after he had been on nutramigen exclusively for a few weeks. I'm open to keeping him on the prilosec because he has done so well in the last few months. For a number of reasons including that the reflux was a symptom of the intolerance and not its own issue and by removing the foods he wasn't reacting anymore. Another was that in our case it seemed to contribute to his issues more than help. We started weaning on our own but did get his pediatricians buy in and help. How did it go?</p> <p>My son was on zantac from 6w-4.5 months and then since on prilosec. He was diagnosed with silent reflux (and became a spitter upper around 4 months) and all along had a dairy intolerance. He doesn't really spit up anymore. Anyways, he goes for a follow up with his GI specialist in a week and I'm wondering if/when we'll wean from prilosec. At the time of his appt, he'll be a week shy of 7 months. </p>
