This has to be an individual thing. Our 3 year old falls out of bed on a regular basis (even with a bed rail that extends nearly the length of her bed).

My 4 y/o has a full sized floor bed and he is all over the place. At least half the week I find him on the floor or on the floor with his head on the bed like the bed is his pillow.

It's funny, my son is 2.5 and I just sorta realized a month or two ago that he stays pretty stationary now. His head used to end up at the opposite end or he'd be totally sideways.
Now he might go slightly diagonal but his head mostly stays in the same place. He uses a small toddler pillow now, so maybe that helped? He loves it.

I think it's been a lot longer than a couple months but it didn't dawn on me till recently.

We moved DS to a regular bed when he was 22 months. He slept all over the bed until he turned 3 maybe? He's 3.5 now and for the last few months he's been sleeping more like an adult - head on the pillow and under the covers.

Not until well after we moved him to the toddler bed. It never seemed to bother him though. It was kind of fun to check on him before I went to bed and see where he'd ended up 😂

All over the place (20 months). We get the same thing - legs hanging out, curled up in all different positions all over the mattress, etc. Last night he was on his belly, face down, but arms and legs completely spread eagle with his hands hanging out. I feel like at this rate he will be in his crib until he is a teenager! LOL

@Banana330: My DD sleeps exactly like this all the time! I have no advice because I keep waiting for her to calm down but she might be a teenager before that happens :silly:

We switched DS (2.75? he'll be 3 in September) to a big boy bed in March and he's still a wild sleeper. We had to go for a full-on rail as opposed to the pool noodle type because he launched himself out of the bed on his second or third night. Last night at about 10pm I turned on the monitor screen to find him with his feet up on the wall, sound asleep.

We changed DS's crib to a toddler bed right after he turned 3. I felt like he still moved a lot in his crib, but now that he's in a toddler bed I feel like he moves less. He was moving less than your DD by that point, but I've definitely noticed decreased movement in the toddler bed...I think he can sense the difference.

DS was all over as well and we recently moved to a twin bed with a rail. Somehow he hasn't really moved down the bed at all but routinely sleeps curled up fully on his pillow. I don't think he realizes how much freedom he has!

DD is 3.5 and she's not all over the place anymore but she has always slept right up against the crib railings as a baby and still does it now as a preschooler. No idea when we will be able to remove the rail on her bed because I feel like she will just fall right out!

My son is 5 and still sleeps all over the bed! When he was smaller we had the bed against the wall and a bed rail on the other side. We took the bed rail off right before he turned four and he's only fallen out a couple of times since then.

DD is in a toddler bed and she is still all over the place. I put a pillow at the end of the bed where there aren't any rails and it keeps her from falling out. She doesn't sleep with the pillow yet. She's almost 19 months. I think it has to be an individual thing. I move a lot in my sleep but my DH doesn't.

My DD is 2 and she is constantly wiggling around her crib at night. I don't think she's ready to move to a big bed yet, but we'll need her crib by christmas for DD2.

Do toddlers outgrow this wild sleeping or is it an individual thing? If you toddler was a wiggler in their sleep, did it stop in a big bed?
