@Coco Bee: My LO will still roll over on the changing table, but it's easier to catch her on there. On the floor she's off and running! Why don't you put something down on the bed when you're changing him there if you think it's gross? We change LO on beds at her grandparents houses and other peoples houses but we always put the changing pad down just in case.

In my experience babysitting my nephew, the changing table was ditched as soon as he started rolling around. It was always easier to change him on the floor, even when he was only a few months old! A dresser seems to be the best alternative to a dedicated changing table.

We've never used a changing pad. Her room is too small for a changing table and her dresser is too tall. Our bathroom is a decent size with the perfect space on the counter for changing. We put a towel down and change her there. I like the idea that all peeing/pooping is being taken care of in one room the house.

@Glimmersnaps - love the bathroom segue idea. Sadly I am soooo far away from potty training, but hopefully I remember that down the road...

LO is 15 months and we still use it a couple of times a day. We are also working on using the potty though, so changes during the day are very sporadic and half the time he's standing up.

I don't use it too much... well I do, every day, but I could easily do without it. I love the extra storage though.

@artbee: DH hates it because he rolls over no matter where DS is so he just prefers the floor or DS's bed (which I think is gross).

DS is 7 months. I think I will keep it in there because we store all of his diapers and wipe along with extra blankets and other items in the fabric bins on the shelves below.

We only paid $20 for the changing table so its not a big loss once we throw it out.

Lo is 14 months and we still use it. If I put her on the floor she'll just crawl away. On the table she has nowhere to go.

My son is 2 1/2 and I still use the changing table! I just like how everything I need is right there (wipes, diapers, diaper cream, etc). If I didn't have a newborn, I probably would've put it away but I figure I might as well use it for my son since I need it for the baby anyway.

LO is 14 months and I still use the changing table (just a changing pad on top of a dresser). 50% of the time we use it up there, 50% of the time we change her on the floor.

LO is 5 months old and we only use it part of the time now. She's so wiggly that often we change her on the bed in her room.

I can't remember exactly, but around the one year mark. I actually started changing his diapers in the bathroom. He would stand and I would change him that way. Bathroom diaper changing is a good segue into potty training. :)

At around 10 months? My daughter was too interested in the other stuff on the dresser and would just exit the changing pad to try to go explore. It was dangerous and not fun. Now I just do it on the floor, and she still tries to leave, but at least now I'm not worrying about her diving off and breaking her neck.

we use a small dresser for LOs changing table. I'm thinking about moving it and packing the changing pad away. She's one now and most of the time I change her on the floor. The biggest reason why I want to move it out of her room is because our house is small and her room is small so her room will also be her play area.
