We also typically keep it set to 77º. However, super pregnant me swells up hideously if I spend more than a few minutes at temps above ~74º. So, it has been getting an early workout. It will probably also get set colder this summer because of baby. SIDS risk-reduction guidance recommends an ideal temperature between 68-72º and absolutely no higher than 75º. Our cooling bills are going to be monstrous this summer since baby and I will be home. We just deal with the heat. I used to detest the humidity, but since I am not in a too-dry, over air-conditioned building for the bulk of the day any more, it doesn't bother me nearly as much. It gets nice and cool at night so we throw open the windows and get the fans going and then close it back up in the morning. On days approaching 100 I'll definitely use it, though!! Our apartment is really old though and pretty well insulated from the cold and heat. Our walls facing the street are nearly 3 feet thick. We barely had to turn on the heater this winter.
