i usually give it 20 minutes before writing off the nap--there's only so long you and LO can handle, right? and at least motion naps work for your LO--with my LO, i just have to give up altogether!

when LO is fighting a nap, which isn't often but is usually the last nap of the day, i pop her in the stroller or car and she usually falls asleep...would that work for your LO? i know how frustrating it is when they are obviously tired but not sleeping!!

My LO didn't nap in her crib until 8 months. We didn't want to nap train, so we just let her be in her swing, car seat, stroller, etc. Then one day DH put her in her crib and she slept. It was amazing :)

Now that she's in her crib she'll usually go down right away. Unless she poops..... or has a day like yesterday where she just doesn't want to nap. I let her sit and play by herself for an hour before I go get her. She's never crying over it..... and I need my rest too!

...when you're trying to get lo to nap?

I am so over spending 30+ minutes trying to get a second nap out of this kid.

My patience is wearing thin. It's been over a month of this and night wakeups that we didn't have before. I never wanted to do CIO, and we're apparently in the "really not so good" time for that (9.5 months) but nothing is working except naps in motion, and that's not a great habit. I could say I wish I sleep trained her when she was younger, but it wasn't until almost exactly when we hit the "really not so good" time that this all started.

So lately if she won't go down after 30 minutes I've either been giving her a motion-nap or just giving up altogether (for awhile if it's morning, til bedtime if it's afternoon.)
