I called the other day because he had a fever of 102 with no other symptoms. But I remember when he was an infant, they wanted to see him for anything over like 101.5 or so. So basically, I call anytime I'm just not sure if I should bring him in. The nurse usually calls back to say yes or to wait and see.

I only call if they need to get in, which is very rare.

I usually don't call the doctor unless the kids have a high fever or something that really worries me.

I usually don't call unless there's something really worrisome: fever for more than 3 days, wheezy, rash, etc.. Actually, DS just got roseola a couple Weeks ago and I didn't call at all since I knew what it was.

Just curious- when your baby is sick at what point do you call the pedi?

Elliot's been sick with a cold for the past week and it's pretty minor....only had a fever one day last week, runny nose but the snot is all clear, just a dry cough every once in awhile when he overexerts himself (my little walking obsessed boy won't slow down!), etc. I haven't called the doctor but it just occurred to me this morning...are you supposed to call whenever your baby is sick at all?
