@junebugsmama: not great. That's some whole other issues haha. We have a appt with the GI specialist April 1!!

And there has been no sign of diarrhea here. Well aside from my son who has other issues that cause his diarrhea. And no more vomiting!!! I think we are clear! This was like 4 hours for Zuma and 2 hours for pi!!! Knock on wood!

@anonysquire: Ah!! What cuties!!

The stomach bug hit our house last week, and it was a furious, quick one! It was super contagious, but it ran it's course in 24 hours. I'm hoping your little guy recovers quickly!

I waited more than a day after vomiting OR diarrhea. She only threw up for one morning but the diarrhea lingered for several days. And for probably a week after that I was super super paranoid about changing poopy diapers- I put a disposable pad down on her changing pad and washed hands like crazy, didn't touch anything between the diaper change and the sink (like I got the fresh diaper and wipes out before starting, made sure doors were open so I wouldn't have to touch the knobs). I was a little crazy but my baby was only 6 weeks only when my toddler started throwing up.

Well Zuma was fine all night and seems great now. Pi on the other hand has now vomited twice this morning. Hoping it's short for him as well. I guess if they are both better by tonight we will take our chances and still go Saturday. I plan on staying home between now and then. Thanks everyone for weighing in.

DS2 had the stomach bug that's going around last week and I waited 24 hours before sending him back to daycare.
I didn't get the bug until early Sunday morning, so it took awhile for it to 'get' to me.
Honestly, I don't think there is any right answer. Especially with the particular bug that we have. Some of the kids in his class were sick the week before, others the day before him. DH and DS1 (knock on wood) haven't caught anything yet and it's been a week.

I just had it last week
Throwing up Wednesday 2 am - Thursday 6 a.m.
I stayed in our bed room away from LO and world Wed, Thurs and Fri
I skipped the local bugs egg hunt that Saturday as I didn't want to chance it and it is running ramped in our area and didn't want DD to catch it either

And it could just be coincidence that your family got sick last time. Seems unlikely unless they were in your house especially since I'm assuming z isn't potty trained and so you'd be the one dealing with wiping etc

Generally a day or two also. But that's 24 or so hours from ANY temperature or vomit or diarrhea. So if they wake up and it's normal but that night it's a little elevated if possible I start the clock again. Dd has been known to seem better then suddenly be worse.

I follow daycare rules, which is 24 hours. So if she last threw up at 8:30 p.m., wait 24 hours before you take her anywhere. Assuming she's not sick again in the next few days, you should be fine to take her out on Saturday.

How long after last vomit do you wait to leave the house? In October Zuma had 3 days of vomiting and after she was clear on the last day we waited 3.5 days to leave the house. And ended up infecting 7 of my family members :/ even though my husband and I and baby boy never got it. So am I not waiting long enough? Zuma got sick 4 times yesterday with the last time being at 8:30pm and wasn't sick during the night and seems back to normal... So would the family Easter egg on Saturday be a bad idea?
