@MamaBehr: not sure if this is helpful or not, but i'm 34.5 weeks and i've been having period like cramping at night for the past week or so. I haven't been overly concerned about it because i have no other preterm labor symptoms, and to be honest, for me it's probably just gas or something since my stomach has so little room to do its thing these days! but it doesn't hurt to call the OB!

I just found my "Recognizing Premature Labor" from my midwife:

*Uterine contractions that happen every ten minutes or more often, with or without other warning sign.
*Menstrual like cramps felt lower in abdomen. May come & go or be constant.
*Low dull backache felt below the waistline. May come & go or be constant.
*Pelvic pressure. Feels like baby is pushing down.
*Abdominal cramping with or without diarrhea.
*Increase or change in vaginal discharge. Most vaginal discharge than usual, or changing into a mucus, watery, or bloody discharge.

If any of these happen for more than an hour, it says to call.

@matador84: my problem is I've never actually gone into labor! My first I was induced, my second my water broke but I never felt a contraction while waiting for my c-section! I don't trust my body and don't even know what it all feels like!!
@Emsmems: my OB/gyn said if they come 7 min or faster.... What worries me is the period like cramping feeling.... And the fact that my whole body feels out of wack in a way I've never felt before....

I would probably call. My midwife told me to call if I had more than 5 BH in an hour!

I feel your pain! I wish ob' s (at least mine doesn't) gave a sheet of like "when to call or seek help," like my pedi does! I feel the same way at 24-25 weeks that I did at 30+ weeks with my 1st. Nothing really I can describe, just really achy, back pain and all-around off.

It's your third...I'd totally go with your gut if you need to call your dr or go to l & d. My first pregnancy has been so different than my 2nd, and I just have a feeling with this one I'm going to go into early labor--but no scientific or medical reason to back it up, ha!

I'm 32 weeks 3 days pregnant with my third, and I have been feeling really off lately. I frequently get the sensation that I'm getting my period, my digestive system is out of wack (don't feel like eating and I keep vacillating between constipated and diarrhea) and my Braxton hicks are getting more intense. So, when do I worry? My Braxton hicks are about 6-10 minutes apart (though this has happened earlier in this pregnancy so the frequency of the BH don't worry me too much)
