Thank you everyone. I made it through the night okay and woke up feeling a million times better. I've been able to eat light meals and drink plenty of water. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow just to make sure baby was okay through it all, but I'm hoping it was a 24 hour bug type thing that won't be harmful to baby. Thanks again :)

@hellocupcake: when I had the stomach flu with this pregnancy, my OB gave me the guideline of 8 hours. She wanted me to sip ginger ale and avoid all food until I hadn't been sick in 8 hours.

If I had been throwing up for 24 hours, she wanted me to come in for fluids.

Oh you poor thing. :((( If you have some ginger, try boiling it with water and drink that slowly. The ginger helps with nausea which, hopefully, helps with the throwing up. At least enough for you to get re-hydrated. I would definitely go to the ER if you're getting a headache though. Most likely you are dehydrated... Feel better soon!

You poor thing!

Have you tried a Popsicle for hydration? Ice chips? When you drink take very small sips and wait a few minutes in between to see if that helps.

@lovehoneybee: I didn't know calling them first was an option. So I called and she said they can't advise me one way or the other since it could get them in trouble. :( thank you though
@MamaJ: thank you

My doc told me in the 1st trimester that if I couldn't keep food or liquid down for 24 hrs to come in for hydration. So I guess it depends how long you've been puking? Probably a good idea to go in tonight. Although if it was me and I was able to keep liquid down earlier today (but just not tonight) I might wait until the am.

If I can't hold down anything I go. The fluids will help. You don't want to get even worse. :( Feel better!

Re: MediCal. I'm not familiar with that specific program, but I work for a CAO in PA and after a medical assistance application is approved we will usually pay for medical bills up to 3 months before the date of application submission, and definitely for the interim time between submission and approval. I don't know how it is in CA, but I assume it's similar...just in case you were worried about the ER bill rather than not having a number to call (and if the latter is your concern maybe call the ER and talk to an on-call nurse?)

Good luck, and I hope you feel better ASAP!

I'd go to the ER or an urgent care clinic, to get hooked up to iv fluids, it sounds like you're pretty dehydrated.

Good luck, I'll be thinking of you tonight :(

I didn't send in our application during open enrollment and am not covered under Dh's insurance. I guess we're too poor for Covered California and so I am waiting on our MediCal application to be approved. They told me it could be anywhere from 45-90 business days. This was in February. Anyway, all this to ask:

I've been vomiting all day. Which is normal for me, I think. With Dd I had nausea and vomiting until I was 6 months along. Well, today I've been throwing up all day and have a headache. I finally tried to just drink pedialyte and some water and threw that up too. It's too late to call the clinic I've been going to, should I wait until the morning or is this worth an ER visit? I hate to waste their time and wish I had our insurance to call the 24 hour hotline :( I'm 16 weeks along and feel dehydrated. My lips and mouth are so dry but nothing will stay in my tummy :/
