I got sick with the stomach flu recently at work. I couldn't do work at all. I really try to tough it out because a lot of times it is more stress to plan for someone else to be there than to just go myself. I also can't show up and decide to leave because I would never get a sub. I try to tough it out for a cold, but definitely stay home if I have a stomach bug. At my job if you don't have benefit time left (for me it is always unpaid anyway so not really a benefit lol) you get 1 point instead of 2 if you work 51% of your shift.
