And yes, she does try to escape the swaddle whilst sleeping, especially as she has discovered how yummy her hands taste and constantly wants them in her mouth! Her startle reflex is also quite strong so we find that swaddling her keeps her sleeping for longer and breaking an arm out of it generally doesn't wake her up unless she gets too cold. I wonder if this is her way of telling me that she doesn't want the swaddle! We use the Halo swaddles, so we put her in it but don't fasten the velcro folds across her arms until we're done feeding and burping her. Most times he'll fall asleep but sometimes like tonight he didn't go down until 50 minutes later and I had to rock him. Yay. I can't wait to be done with the swaddle.... Then, read a book, bottle, and bed. It's also a sleep cue now. Usually I'll swaddle him now and then rock him or nurse him.
