We get a real tree so we want it to stay fresh! I decorate the house for Christmas before Thanksgiving though! We travel for Thanksgiving so I love coming home to a Christmas-y house. At my parents' house they have three trees - one real and two artificial so they put the fakes up right after Thanksgiving. My in-laws lived in Germany while DS was a baby, so they must have picked it up then (on their travels through Europe).
