Ours is around 8pm (12 weeks here), but that just happened naturally, not based on anything I did. But now that it's established I try to keep it consistent by timing our end-of-day routine to finish around 8.

I aim to be doing the night-time nursing at 8pm. I usually watch tv while I nurse him, so sometimes I just keep him on me until my show is over at 9. I love the baby snuggles. :)

At 4 weeks it was 8pm and at 9 weeks we moved it to 7. Now it is generally between 6-7 unless we have a crap nap day then it is 5:30-ish.

Our LO has never indicated when he is ready to go to bed...he goes to sleep when we tell him to! :)

so he can spend time with DS.

@Mrsdaredevil: omg it takes her forever too! Thankfully, she's done with the fussing part but usually she nurses for like 15-20 then I feel like she's "asleep" at about 30minutes so give her another 30 to be in deep sleep. But. If I try to put her in her crib after an hour she wakes up. So usually she's not safe to put down till 2hours. I really hope that changes soon...

We start putting LO down at 7 pm, but the process takes so long and she is such a stinker that she doesn't go down til 9 or so. Sometimes she will fight sleep for so long I will have to feed her a second time before she even goes down. Since we are co sleeping, I think we are going to start just putting her down when we go to bed.

At 8 weeks i tried to put her down around 7pm based on all of the books, but she refused to go down early. Now at 11 weeks, her bedtime has slowly shifted from 9 pm to 8pm so i need to make sure im done with most of my bedtime routine by 7:30 or she gets really cranky.

I agree with Mrs. Bee. I used to put LO down at 6pm but she would always wake up briefly around around 8 or 9 and then go down for the night for good an hour later. She was 2-3 months at the time. Around 4 months, her bedtime became 7-7:30pm consistently (we also sleep-trained around this time).

Our son changed around the 6-8 week mark too. He was going to bed around the same time we were - 11pm ish. Now he goes to bed between 7-8pm. But he will wake up around the time we go to bed for his first feeding.

Usually between 9-10pm works best for us. I go to bed around midnight, so I give him a quick bottle in his crib before I go to bed, and that usually lasts him until close to 7am.

your lo is still young. her bedtime will naturally shift earlier as she gets a little older.

olive is almost 9 months and she goes down by 6:30. If she wakes up early from a nap (usually because we're out and she takes a stroller nap), we'll put her down around 5:30. Her bedtime used to be 5:30 pretty regularly when she was a little younger.

Last night I put her down by 5:30 and she woke up at 7:10am this morning (woke up 3 times in the middle of the night). But that is almost 14 hours in bed!

We started putting my daughter to bed between 7 and 8 PM when she was around 6 weeks old. Previously we had been doing a later bedtime (10-11). I found that she wasn't naturally inclined to the earlier bedtime, so it took a week or so of doing a rigid bedtime routine to get her used to the idea of going to bed earlier. Once she started accepting the earlier bedtime, it was just great! Now DH and I can have a few hours of us time in the evenings. We make dinner and watch some TV together after DD goes to bed. We always feed her one more time in her sleep (dream feed) before we go to bed between 10 and 11, so that we can get as much sleep as possible for ourselves!

LATE! Like between 11pm - 12am. Yeah, huh? Only b/c I stay home and my oldest wakes up around 8am (he sleeps at 9-9:30pm). So I usually plan for my 3 month old to sleep in our room from 12am - 12pm with two feedings in between. Then I get to spend the morning with my 3 y.o. uninterrupted. He likes it too. Works for us for now. But my LO takes shorts naps and seems to be okay falling asleep shortly after I put him down for the night. My husband comes home late too...7:15pm, sometimes later but no later than 8pm. He has a long commute so sleeping early for our kids is hard if he ever wants to see them during the week. Sucks but that's life with us! Works for us though, even if hubby and I don't get too much alone time. I figured we will when our youngest is older and can sleep a solid 12 hours. :)

I had tried desperately to put her down earlier but she just won't sleep earlier. It used to be I would spend HOURS till she would sleep at 11pm or after. now in the last week or two she has gotten into falling asleep between 9/10ish. So now I have accepted she won't sleep till then and start our "routine" about 8pm.

I wish she would sleep earlier so my husband and I can actually spend some time together. But she just won't so I've accepted it rather than spend hours trying to get her to sleep and just end in both of us being frustrated.

DD's bedtime has always been really early, as early as 5 pm! Even now, she goes to bed at 6:30 pm and she is 2 years old. It is a downside that DH doesn't get to see her in the evenings, though.

DS is 6.5 weeks old and until now, I haven't put him *down* for the night until around 9-10, depending on his last awake stretch. He will usually then sleep from 9-1 (or 10-2) and then another 3 hour stretch and then another 2 hour stretch. We do EASY all day long (Eat, Activity, Sleep, You) and I do one extra Eat before real bedtime. I try not to let him sleep longer than 2 hours after 5 p.m. though. Do others put their babies down earlier? Do babies sleep better if you put them down earlier?

My husband doesn't get home from work until 7 sometimes so I worry he wouldn't see the baby at all if we put him down earlier!
