@littlejoy: thanks. This totally answers my question. If I put her to bed earlier she gets up earlier. Duh. If I could sleep in till 8:15 and wake up to my internal clock I'd be the happiest girl ever. ;)

We wanted DS to get up at 730am so we always had 730pm as his bedtime. When he was little we would put him to bed at 730pm and then give him a dreamfeed at 1030pm and he's usually sleep a good long stretch that way. We were always trying to time everything so that he would never wake up hungry after 430am because then he would not go back to bed and we would be complete zombies. He weaned off the dreamfeed at 5-5.5ish months. Some days he wakes early but now at 11 months we just let him play in there by himself until we are ready to go get him. When he was younger we would go get him if he was crying anytime after 6am. Obviously teething and sickness throws all of that off but he's been a pretty good sleeper since 4 months (he was a holy nightmare before then).

I wouldn't change a thing. I think that some people who work out of the house would need an earlier bedtime, so their babies will naturally do the 12 hours of sleep, without having to wake up earlier than they usually would. So, if you need to be out of the house by 7:30, you'd probably want to put baby to bed around 6:30 or 7, so they can get a full night of rest.

I'd go with your groove, and know that this is awesome!!

I think it all depends on your family's schedule and when you have to get up and how naps go. My LO usually goes to bed between 7 and 8. We sometimes start getting her ready around 6:45. She typically sleeps until 5-6am, so about 9-10 hours with normally no wake ups but occasionally will need to eat early at 2-3am. We often have to get her up by 6 so this works for us although I wish she understood weekends!

If it's working, it's working!
My first had a late bedtime for a long while.
My second chose 7:30 as her bedtime fairly early on. She sleeps 12-13 without a wake up unless she's getting teeth and then it seems to be 7:30-7:30 with ten wake ups!

DD is a little over 2 months old and we're getting 6-8 hour stretches at night. We typically put her to bed right before we got to bed (so around 10:30-11:30pm).

I figure I want get as much of her long sleeping stretch at the same time I'm sleeping as possible.

When do you put your baby to bed? How old are they? When do they sleep until? How many wake ups?

T is 5 months and we have successfully swaddle weaned and she is sleeping in her crib, yay! She was STTN until the transition most nights 8-9 hours in a row. We usually put her to bed at the same time as us 10/10:30. Now she goes to bed at 7:30/8:30 but I'm wondering if we should do it earlier. Lately she's have a few nights of 9/10/11 hours in her crib with a short wake up where she puts herself back to sleep. If she's actually crying I feed her and then she usually won't go back down and sleeps with me for the rest of the night this happens about 1/2 the time. I don't want to make a bunch of changes since what we are doing is working ok. I'm just curious if this is a late bedtime.
