We only get a couple months of really nice weather where I live so to be inside burping, feeding, dealing with fussy baby during the warm months was not ideal. Next one is in January and that was planned because I can handle a newborn in the crappy winter months. We pretty much kept at home during the first 6-8 weeks without missing out on nice weather or activities. It was still cold after we started taking him out though. We switched her to the convertible seat mid-late March at 5.5m, and the few cold snap days we had were such a pain..involved a million blankets since you're not supposed to use a thick coat in the seat. That means two unplanned pregnacies where the brunt of my pregnancy was during the winter months. The most uncomfortable months during freezing weather! And the most unflattering pregnancy clothing. With our next one, I want them born in the fall so I can have color in my pregnancy wardrobe instead of bleah! As it happened though it wasnt planned this way this second one is on the same time table though Im unsure about if Ill return to work in Sept in the same capacity this time around. Next time, we'd kind of like a fall or winter baby. We like the contrast of when they'd be born and it wouldn't be so hot out (learning to nurse her in July was SO hot). Plus, another LO would be small enough to be okay with moving around to our family's houses during the holidays or would be born right after the holidays and we wouldn't feel obligated to go places. I like having the holidays with a newborn and love the cool weather snuggling time. I don't like the born during flu season thing though. I think I'd ideally like a spring baby, March or April. It was nice that it wasn't too hot or cold and I didn't have to be miserable pregnant in the Summer. But he was still so little during the Summer and it was really hot so we were pretty much stuck inside and couldn't really get out much. Without that I would say spring time- April to June. July is nice though because by the time I got big enough that my winter coat didn't fit it was warming up. Funny thing was - this was the same setup we had for M!
