My LO started doing a longer 5 hours chunk of sleep around 8 weeks of age. But then he'd still be up every 2 hours after that. We had a horrible 4 month sleep regression though and ended up sleep training at 5 months. Used the Sleep Easy Solution book- it was great! (it is a cry it out book tho) At 9 month he sleeps 12-13 hours per night, amazing!!! It will get better for you!

Depends on the baby. My first LO slept 12 hours when she was 2 1/2 months. Took my 2nd LO until 3 1/2 months. Meanwhile, my niece is 1 and still not sleeping through the night.

@gotkimchi: I was you, exactly this, and now at 9 weeks my LO has had 2 nights where he slept 5 hours his first stretch! I got do sick of people telling me "it gets better" but it really does! Nothing I did changed how he slept, I don't think, he just started sleeping longer. After the first long stretch though, he will still wakes up every 2-3 hours...

Didn't get better until about 4 months for us :( 6 wks was actually really tough - major growth spurt, and crying usually peaks then. Good luck and hang in there!!

@gotkimchi: the whole STTN thing is not that common. We had a huge poll a month or two back and only 20-30% had babies sleeping. Through the night by 3 months. That means 70% are not and that includes my 8 month old who has still never slept through the night even once.

Who had these mythical babies that sleep all night??? It wasn't so bad at first but now the sleep deprivation is really catching up with me.

Sounds like the 6 week growth spurt to me! She's a hungry little girlie!

For us, sleep settled into a predictable pattern of waking twice a night at around 10 weeks. Then, when she was 5 months, she STTN for the first time! Then she did it again a week later.....! Then it was twice per week..... At 8 months, she doesn't sleep through consistently but she manages maybe 4 nights per week and usually only wakes once on the other nights. It does get easier, honestly!

My baby is 6 weeks old today and I feel like everyone says it gets easier at six weeks but I swear it's getting worse! She was getting up twice a night around 12/3:30 but lately she's been getting up every 2 hours!!! Nothing I do help her sleeps longer at night. I've tried doing a dream feed but I can't get her awake enough to eat once shes asleep. Help. So tired :(
