When we started offering choices (so LO felt like she was in control), things got a lot better. Right before 18 months was really hard and it was because she had very few words and while she could understand us, she couldn't communicate. It comes and goes but all in all, it can be pretty tough. The theme of what brings on the meltdowns has changed from 17 months but they're still here. The one benefit (so far, at least) is that each "phase" of this difficult behavior has been relatively short lived. Sometimes there's a break before the next resistant stage. </p> <p>Good luck!
