Mine is kinda twin-mom specific, but I struggle with the Mama Bear instinct when one of my twins, (aka the love of my life) hurts their brother or sister, (aka the other love of my life). Biting, grabbing, and hitting really upset me! Fortunately it has only happened a few times.
Otherwise it's when they are sick. DS had pneumonia earlier this year and at first the ER dr didn't want to do a chest x-Ray. I went Mama Bear on his ass and that's when they found the pneumonia! Damn straight ;)

Not so much when kids are mean to her because they are kids, and don't know better and are a similar size to her. But if an adult is mean or unfair to her it really fires my flame. Honestly I don't even like her grandparents to tell her off. Partially because they never see her anyway and don't know her and partially because shit like her throwing food on a restaurant floor is for me to worry about, not the grandparents. I know that last one could be a bit crazy. I will have to work on that if we move home.

When other older kids are mean to him or climb, hit over him at he playground....... The other day, Pierson was going down the slide and these 3 older kids (8 yes old around) were climbing up and climbed over him and I yelled at them. If their parents aren't going to watch them and their messing with my kid, you bet I'm saying something, my kid is 2 he can't defend.himself

Usually with the in-laws or my own parents when they are respecting his schedule or his wishes. Then my Mama Bear rears her ugly head and I snap!

Definitely when older kids are rough around her. I chewed some kids out at CFA the other day, before I even realized what I was doing.

When people say "Oh, I can definitely see a lazy eye" because DH was born with crossed eyes. Her eyes get checked every three months. They are not crossed or lazy at ALL, and I have the lab diagnostic to prove it!

Definitely when older kids are rough with him. I've also ha a few moments when adults have made comments about how busy or crazy he is that have rubbed me the wrong way and I've responded defensively.

Haha! The only time it's happened so far is when LO was 3.5 months old. We were visiting my work for the Christmas lunch and she was getting overtired and overstimulated, so she started to fuss. One of my coworkers (my parent's age) literally tried to take her out of my arms. I intinctively, batted her hands away and said "get out of here"! Everyone laughed at my Mama Bear moment.

I get super in-tune with my instincts when were in a busy public place where kidnapping may be common such as a mall of a bus station or something. I push him the stroller and I'm just ready to kill anyone who comes near my child :silly: :silly:
Also (well, not so much anymore) when he's eating something that is a choking hazard because of it's size or texture. I want him to try it out and get use to it, but you better believe I'm ready to shove my hand down his throat at the first gag.

What kind of situations bring our your mama bear instinct? For me, it's when older kids, that should know better, hit/kick/push him. Other day at the gym at 4 year old girl was trying to round house kick my 2 year old in the face while he was riding a ride on toy.
