We moved LO out of our room at 7 weeks because the grunting was keeping everyone up. I think it probably stopped around 8-9 weeks.

We moved my son back into our room at 4 months after moving him out at 6 weeks-ish. He's SO much quieter now :) I think they got quieter somewhere about 2 months? We always keep the monitor volume low, like a 2/10, and only go in if they are actually crying. Part of the equation was us learning what noises mean they need us, what's just fussing, and what's in their sleep. Hang in there!

Yup, my LO grunts like nothing on earth when she goes to bed (she's six weeks today)! She also squeaks, sighs and makes other miscellaneous random noises so she was moved to her own room after only two days at home.

@JessLC: yes! That's why we turned down the monitor. I'm tired of waking up at night and going all the way to his room just to find him squeaking in his sleep! :)
@winniebee: thank God...fx.

Ha, the grunting/noisiness is the reason we moved DS to his own room at 4 weeks! I couldn't sleep with him next to me!

If I remember correctly, about 2 months? I agree - it's super annoying. Even after 2 months the sleep noises didn't stop completely, though they did decrease a lot. Then at 3 months we moved her into her own room and I put the monitor by my husband's side of the bed since it takes more to wake him. So far, so good (LO is now 6 months old)!

Hah. I asked the same question a week ago. My LO makes animal noises...yelping like a dog, chittering like a squirrel, grunting like a hippo. SO loudly!!! I am wide awake for the 30 mins that she does it before she falls asleep and the 30 mins before she wakes up. She sleeps in our room. So I hope it goes away soon!! I mean it shaves off an hour or two of sleep a night!

I think my LO stopped grunting after 2 weeks - it wasn't a very long phase. Don't worry - you're little cave(wo)man will soon just be something you can laugh about soon! :)

lO sounds like a big ole grunt all the time when he sleeps...I never know if he's awake or asleep and I end up going to his room to check because I can hear them loud and clear on the monitor.
Last night I turn the monitor way down because his grunting keeps me and DH up all night (thinking..'ok he's about to wake up crying').
He is 6w....when does it end?
