Last month though he was with it non-stop...turns out he was getting his first molar. So maybe the same thing? She's always trying to put her hands in her mouth, even as a NB but only recently found her thumbs. At 9 months, I'm not super worried because she could still grow out of it, but eventually we'll have to deal with it. </p> <p>So many of my friends have "come out" as thumbsuckers when they've seen my daughter sucking her thumb! And unfortunately they have all told me the different ways their parents tried to break the habit - and how nothing worked! At least with a pacifier, you can take it away, but you can't take a thumb away! I sucked my thumb through kindergarten before I finally kicked the habit, but my best friend sucked hers until she was TWELVE and it totally messed up her teeth!</p> <p>I hope you're able to break this habit from your LO before it becomes a problem. Without fail, she would suck her thumb for a few seconds and then conk out to sleep. When she's upset/scared she sucks her thumb to calm her down. All of this was fine by me. Now, at 14 months of age, LO walks around the house playing and toddling around but is now starting to constantly suck her thumb. When I try to take it out, she pops it back in. </p>
