She LOVED this and it helped prolong the excitement of her birthday. She opened our gifts to her the morning of birthday. We had her party at Chuck E Cheese this year. The kids were busy playing so we didn't open gifts there. I really liked watching her opening a gift a day. Except we usually end up with too many, so we squirrel a few away before DS gets a good look at them, and then open them on a different occasion later in the year. All at the same time. I know sometimes people like to open them privately. But that was rare.</p> <p>Where I live now, the norm seems to be opening a gift as soon as you receive it, so that the gifter sees you opening it. I find it so odd, especially for kid parties when it gets so hectic.
