My LO started giving us a 5 hour stretch at about 6 weeks but I refuse to call that STTN!!! Now, at 3 months, she gives us 6 hours, then usually two three hour stretches.

My LO is 6wks and has slept 6hrs a few times, but 4hrs is the norm. She's only 8lbs 5oz though so maybe this has something to do with it. I hope so, but at the same time it will take her a couple months to get to 11lbs! :(

My LO started sleeping 5-6 hour stretches by 4 weeks and has lengthened each week. She's 11w now and has done 10-11 hours straight all week. I don't think weight mattered with us, she was STTN at 9 lbs. I do find she nurses a ton before bed, from about 5-8:30pm, so she must be tanking up.

As a newborn, my son hit that "STTN" 5 hour marker 5 nights in a row or something like that--but didn't go back to sleep at all. Those days were worse than the 6 wakeup nights. I was so exhausted!
At 17 months, by the "5 hours is STTN" I'd say about half the week I get a 5 hour stretch and sometimes even a 7 hour stretch. I'm nowhere near as exhausted as I was.

At 3 weeks she started sleeping 6 hours and built up to 9 hours (she's almost 7 weeks now). I keep waiting for her to regress but she has stayed pretty consistent 11pm-8am. She's bottle fed and almost 11lbs so those might be helping factors

DS is 15 weeks and is probably about 11/12lbs now. He sleeps 3-4 hours at a time and wakes up to eat after each sleep cycle. He's had fluke nights where he slept 6 hours, but those are rare and far between. I'm totally ready for it to be consistent because this week, he's waking up every 1.5 hours. Shoot me.

My LO is 12 1/2 weeks and she's been sleeping 6+ hour stretches since 7/8 weeks I think. There were a few nights that she slept 9 hours! But now we're back to 7/7.5. Most nights she has one wakeup between 3-4am. Occasionally she will have two, and I don't even remember the last time she had three wakeups.

With a newborn, sleep deprivation is totally expected and I can seriously say I have never been THIS exhausted before. I know this is a very common question and every parent has an answer they want to hear, but when did your LO begin sleeping through the night? The definition of "sleeping through the night" is 5-6 hours, anywhere between 11 pm - 6am, right?

Our ped said that babies that weigh 11-12 lb will begin sleeping through the night. Our DD is currently 8 weeks old, 11 lb 4oz and just has her first night of "sleeping through the night" from 11:30pm - 5:15am! I don't know if I should get my hopes up that this is now a routine or that was just one lucky night...

Would love to hear your thoughts!
