We could do two at his 4 year appt and two at his 5 year appt or we could do them all at once at 4 years. We chose to do them all at 4 just to get them out of the way. My son was a trooper! Two shots in each arm and he didn't cry until the last one. He was so interested in watching what the nurse was doing I don't think the pain registered until she was done! </p> <p>I think what helped is that we were going through fertility treatments at the time and DS would watch me give myself Follistim injections. It was downright brutal. She had two nurses and me in a pretty good physical workout to get the shots done. </p> <p>The flu shot last year was no joke either. Ours does them at the 4 year old check-up. I've never heard my kid scream louder. That was not fun. I'm glad we are done until age 11, though! (I'm sure she is, too). </p>
