For a lot of women O actually happens more like 24-36 hours after you get a positive OPK. Like art bee said I would just have sex every other night through your expected fertile time period.

You could always do the every other night thing. Sperms stay in your body for days.

We had this problem because DH works late and we could never BD in the mornings during the week. I also had a hard time catching my surge because my surge seemed to be less than 24 hours. So I started testing 2-3 times a day (morning, afternoon, evening). We tried to BD every other day (any time of day that we could) starting around day 10 and lasting through the day after my surge.

The month we got pregnant, we BD in the afternoon one day, got a positive OPK VERY early in the morning the next day (like 5 a.m. and the surge lasted through at least that night because I tested again around 8). However, we couldn't BD that day. We BD the following morning though, and ended up pregnant!

I just learned that OPK can detect LH surge at different times of the day (might detect at 2pm but not at 6am), and that once it is detected you should BD because you have 12-24 hours. Has anyone detected a surge many hours (12+) prior to BD? For instance, you tested positive first thing in the morning, but don't get around to BD until 9pm that night but still got pregnant?

Hubby and I work off schedules (him 2am - 4pm, and me 8am-5pm), and the window of ferric pregnant is so small already, I don't want to miss out on the golden opportunity!
