We started at 4.5 months with solids but it took her a good month to really get interested. We now send her to daycare with about an ounce of food (really not much, just for practice/fun) every day. I ask that they feed it to her after her first morning bottle. Occasionally, she will eat a bit with us at dinner too, always after eating BM.

@Rubies: She loves it! But I don't know if it's because of the different food (she eats all of her sweet potatoes and apples) or if it's because she's learned how to swallow now. Tomorrow we'll go back to peas and find out.

@artbee: Oh, yeah, I give her solids only once a day, too. Sometimes if she doesn't eat any at all, I'll try again at the next feeding. Is your LO liking it better now?

Right now we just give them to her once a day. Also about an hour after her bottle around 4-5. She's started eating the whole bowl, which is just one ice cube. We'll probably wait a week or so and start giving her 2 meals a day.

LO is 6 months old and we started solids a couple of weeks ago. I breastfeed her as I normally would until she's full (breastmilk is still her main source of nutrition). About an hour later, I'll sit her in her highchair and feed her solids for as long/much as she wants. It could be 1-2 spoonfuls or 8-10...Just as much as she will eat. Then about 30-50 minutes after that, she goes for a nap.

I'm just wondering what other moms are doing...When do you feed your LO his/her solids?
