We put newborn down anywhere between 9 and 11. Basically started getting ready for.bed when I was ready to go to bed. At 4 months it's still a bit unpredictable but it is better. Closer to 10 now.

I'm at home though so we dont have to get up early. He will sleep (with wakeups to feed) until 8:00 usually.

At 6 weeks my sons went to bed at probably 9 or 930... would nap til like 6 or so. Lots of fussiness and crying those early weeks. I made the mistake of trying to put them down at like 730/8 (I was so exhausted) and it backfired. I'd say around 10 weeks they moved earlier. Good luck!!

DD2 is 6 weeks tomorrow. She's cluster nursing from 1830-2130 when she finally is down for the night. She constantly falls asleep nursing, but wakes up shortly, usually after I moved her off me. We have a lot of crying in the evening as I am a solo parent most nights.

At that age E would cluster fed and nap, often on me or being worn from about 7-9 PM. At that time I would head to my room and do our final bedtime routine which at that point was pretty simple top up bottle, jammies, swaddle. She started going to bed more consistently around 7pm at 12-14 weeks, after starting daycare. Then it got even earlier, like 6-6:30 and now at 21 months we are getting back to 6:30-7 most nights depending on nap and activity level. I didnt mind the cluster feeding napping thing that happened and so was ok with her being with me for most of the night. If you babywear it might be a way to work around the napping sleeping thing going on and still do a few things.

How do you know when it's bedtime for a newborn vs a nap? My 6 week old definitely treats night and day different, which is great... he'll sleep much longer at night than he does for naps and his first stretch will be about 4 hours before feeding. But I can't always figure out when it's going to happen which is frustrating because sometimes I do his little bedtime routine and take a long time to get him down, and then 30 minutes later he's up and I realize that wasn't bedtime. In general it seems to happen around 9PM but sometimes when it gets close...like say it's 7:30 and time for a sleep...I get confused! Anyone have any tips...or can share what time your LO's went to bed at 6 weeks? When does it become more predictable?
