I did mine at 37 weeks, and while it was fine, I probably would have preferred to do it just a week or two earlier.

I did mine at 32 weeks. It was perfect. I had some extra chunk but my belly was out there large and in charge. I think it depends on how comfortable you are with yourself. I wouldn't have felt comfortable doing them any later. I'm feeling pretty fat these days. :)

I'm thinking of getting mine done around 28 - 30 weeks, because of timing with the photographer. BUT, I do know that you don't want to wait until you are too big... a friend spent A LOT of money on hers and the only thing you can notice looking at them is how huge and uncomfortable she looks! So, I guess it is different for everyone.

I just emailed our wedding photographer about if he does maternity shoots or not. We absolutely loved working with him and I'm so curious to see if he would be willing or not. Mind you, we're thinking about doing them in October.

Seems around 32/33 weeks sounds like a good time. Duh, I didn't even think about asking the photographer. Thanks for the advice ladies!

i'm sure your photographer will have some insight, but as a photographer myself, i always try to do maternity sessions between 33 and 36 weeks. but, i have done earlier and later, and both turned out great. it really is dependent on what you're comfortable with. the key is that you feel beautiful, comfortable, and are able to move/position yourself freely. if you're worried, i'd say earlier is better than later!

I got mine done 2 weeks ago when I was 32 weeks. Our photographer suggested 32/33 weeks as well. I think if you go much past 32/33 weeks you have the possibility of being very uncomfortable. Of course, everyone is different.

We did a few DIY photos at about 36 weeks and I had a hard time liking them because I had never really seen how I looked and I thought I looked like a whale lol. I guess it depends on what you are most comfortable with? I think anytime you can see the bump is cute for photos.

I agree with @Shimmer . . . somwhere right around 33 weeks. I am 26 weeks this week (with just one!) and am just now starting to really show.

Definitely contact your photographer so you can get scheduled accordingly. My photographer preferred to do maternity shoots at 32-36 weeks.

My photographer said that for most pregnant women, she suggests after 32/33 weeks so the bump is pretty noticeable. I did mine at 26 because I have a pretty significant twin bump and didn't want to be uncomfortable. Have you tried contacting the photographer and asking them what would be best?

I'm almost 19 weeks along right now. The photographer I'm wanting to use books up pretty quickly, so I'm thinking I should book soon. It's hard to know what my bump will look like though. I want to have a significant bump to look pregnant, but not be too huge. I don't really have much of a bump right now.

How far along were you when you had maternity photos taken? When is a good time?
