When I have told people about the bed rest I was on and all the bleeding, they either talk about how normal their pregnancy was or they talk about how their normal pregnancy symptoms were so bad. I get that pregnancy isn't easy for most people and nausea etc is pretty damned awful (I HATE vomiting), but I would take nausea and vomiting over fearing I'll lose my baby any day. People like to trump tragedies when they should really just shut up.</p> <p>Maybe you can tell your relative to STFU and blame it on the pregnancy hormones... but that you really mean it. If you are a first time pregnant mom and say you are feeling great, the appropriate response is not "just wait until blah-blah-blah"!<br /> DH has a relative that had difficult/uncomfortable pregnancies and took every opportunity to tell me how awful it was going to get while I was KU.
