We stayed at a place w/ a balcony. After she went to sleep, we sat out there and drank some wine.

We've had rooms where his bed was right by ours, so we put him in bed and hid in the bathroom lol. Then we watched TV or whatever after he was asleep. We've also had rooms with a separate family room and that was always more ideal.

We always make sure to get a room with a separate living area. Our son needs his darkness and silence.
Once, we were forced to share a room with him and it wasn't very fun. We had to watch tv on mute and he kept stirring every time we'd whisper. It was causing me anxiety, but honestly, we weren't on vacation to sit in the hotel the whole time, we were out and about.

I agree, a room with a seperate living room is probably the only way I would stay with our 17.5 month old toddler. We also use a white noise machine and bring it with us when we travel.

we would just stay up and work or watch tv. white noise (and more than one source) is your friend!

We use white noise and once she goes to bed we can turn on the TV. Any way you can splurge for a room with a living room

We're going to be traveling this summer and staying in a hotel room with our toddler, who will be 18 months. Tell it to me straight - will we have any life after he goes to bed at 7pm? He's a good sleeper, but normally in his own room. I'm afraid we'll all have to go to bed at the same time. What's worked for you, and what's the parenting reality here? Thanks!
