i had my bags packed but I hadn't put the car keys back on the hook so we had to spend a few minutes looking around for them.

Seeing I was late... I figured I would never get them until I got to the hospital for my induction.

The night before my induction though, I started getting contractions but nothing major. So I went back to bed and went to the hospital as "scheduled" this time around, I'll prep my hospital bag ahead of time in case.

Yes, I was prepared. I had my bags packed at 34 weeks just in case. I didn't want to be running around in case I went into labor early and the thought of trying to explain to my husband where stuff was located was maddening!

We didn't have to arrange for child care, I don't know what we would have done, to be honest.

Yep! I had my bags packed. Once contractions started I jumped in the shower, dressed, and we were out the door.

I did have my bag packed and ready, I just wasn't home when my contractions hit. DH and I were out walking and baby was 2 weeks early. Contractions hit mid afternoon while I was about 5km away from home. I'm a tough ol' bird tho and made it home lol

My husband packed his way before I packed mine. I kept putting off packing mine. He learned from going to the hospital with Moose and we had nothing. Fortunately, they let me go home when I was pregnant with Moose.

Yes. I was already on maternity leave and had the bag packed since 36 weeks. We did add things while my contractions were happening.

I had my bag (and hubby's) packed at 36 weeks I think, and I went into labor at 40 weeks exactly.

And my hubby had a list of things that we couldn't pack because we use every day, like the camera, computer, etc.

I think we put the car seat in at 37 weeks.

No, I had basically a 2 week window of a due date so I had no idea when to pack a bag... However it didn't end up as a problem since I had another 2 days to sit around in labor...

We had our hospital bag packed and in the car when I was 37 weeks pregnant. I gave birth at 40w3d. Since I'm a teacher and have the summers off, I didn't have to worry about starting contractions at work. I guess I was as prepared as I could have been.

I refused to pack my hospital bag for the longest time. Mentally I wasn't prepared for my LO to make his appearance, and if I delayed packing my bag, he would stay inside a little longer? Silly, I know. At 38 weeks I had really bad BH contractions and spent the whole morning throwing up. It was scary, and my husband took the initiative to pack the bag himself with or without my help. Luckily we didn't need to use it that day, but it sure came in handy 4 days later when I went into labor.

I'm almost 37 wks now and we have our hospital bag packed and ready to go - except for a few things we can't pack until last minute (toothbrush, deodorant etc). We just have the one bag, but no matter where we are in the town I live in, the hospital is only 15 - 20 min away. And it's less than 5 minutes from our house so we should be ok - I hope so at least!

I was not prepared. My son arrived almost 2 weeks early and I had planned to transition my work over to another co-worker a few days later and pack a bag that upcoming weekend. Oops!

Yes, I could not have been more prepared since my LO didn't come until 40 w 4 d. I was waiting, waiting, waiting and had everything done since 37 weeks!

One of my biggest tips to someone in the last month of a pregnancy is to make sure to have two hospital bags packed and ready to go! One at home, and one at work (or your SO's work). That way, when the contractions start... you're very likely to have everything you need at your fingertips.

Also, if you already have another kid... it's important to have an emergency childcare plan in place. Otherwise you'll end up like me and Mrs. Bee, and have to bring your kid into the hospital room while mommy is in labor!

Did you (or do you) have a hospital bag packed and ready to go? When the contractions hit, were you prepared with a plan?
