@Goldilocks1107: I did loosen up my bra a bit yesterday but I think I was just over all achy. I'm sure my ribs are expanding - nothing fits anymore (I'm sure you feel my pain). :)

Glad you're feeling better. And just to help ease any lingering worry, my low back has hurt for the past 4+ weeks. My OB said it was due to how the baby was situating herself. And I needed to "upgrade" to a larger bra size around 32-34 weeks, so maybe your ribs are expanding making your current bra feel too tight?

@MediaGirl: No need to be nervous - you'll know the difference b/w BH and regular contractions when the time comes. I don't know how I knew, but I just did, just like everyone says. The only scary part for me was that they showed up at 22 weeks.

Well, after I wrote that (of course) my belly loosened up and I started to feel a little better. I also drank a ton of water. I'll definitely bring it up at my appointment today. I'm sure it was just bh but it really freaked me out! Now I'm really starting to get nervous about the real thing...

@mediagirl: My husband is the exact same way when it comes to himself. For my LO, he is a totally hypochondriac, rushing to the hospital or doctor at the merest sniffle.

I would totally call. My OB said if anything felt off, to call. It's better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully you'll have a better nurse on the phone than I did the other night. (BG: I accidentally set a hot pot on my baby belly, giving myself a second degree burn. The nurse practically laughed at me and then told me that just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I should have called L&D for a burn... Thanks Captain Obvious, I was only following doctors' orders.)

I would call just to check in that something feels different. Then I'd start trying to identify the beginnings and ends of the contractions and start timing. Good luck...!!!! :)

I would wait because none of the symptoms sound like somthing unusual is wrong. If your belly feels hard or tight it could just be a contraction (not labor) and the bra feeling tight and pain in lower back sound like normal pregnancy symptoms, but if the pain is unbearable then i would call.

I am one of those people who never calls the doctor too. I did not call once during my pregnancy but I don't think I was stressing out about anything. So if you are off and feeling worried, then call!

I'm totally that person who hesitates to call the doctor because I'm afraid I'm over-reacting. So I know where you're coming from. But just call! That's what that doctor is there for and whenever I feel bad I just remind myself that I'm paying my doctor for the right to call her when I have questions or concerns : )

Agree with mslipgloss, it never hurts to call. It only "hurts" when something is actually wrong, but the person didn't want to be a "bother" to the doc's office.

Since you have an appt tomorrow I would wait unless it continues. If you appt was farther away I would probably call. However the tightening could be Braxton Hicks (that is what mine felt like during first pregnancy). At that point in my first pregnancy my lower back hurt all the time so I can't be much help with that.

So, this afternoon I haven't been feeling all that great. I noticed my lower back was hurting and my bra felt really tight. I started poking around on my belly and realized my belly (uterus) was super tight. I'm slightly nauseous, but I figure that's from the milkshake I had at lunch (hehe).

My stomach is not as tight anymore but I still have the other symptoms. Would it be best just to call the OB and ask what's up or, since I have an appointment tomorrow, just wait until then? I'll be 37 weeks Saturday, so I'm really wondering if these are normal late-pregnancy feelings?

I don't want to ask my husband b/c he's Mr. "Never Give In!!" and wouldn't call a doctor unless his head was falling off. I don't really have a lot of friends who have been through this either so....to Hellobee I come with my question. :)

Call or wait till tomorrow?
