I'd bring her in just in case. She's still so little.
Get a video of her coughing if you can.

@Bubbles: Yeah, no stridor, either. I've been listening for that.

At that age I would take her in to have them listen to her chest, just in case.

My LO had a couple of serious episodes of croup (much older; around age 2), and my GP had me google stridor and watch a video so I knew what to look out for. Both times he needed multiple doses of steroids to get it under control.
At that age I would definitely get it checked out, but not in any panic - but if she started showing signs of laboured breathing I would get straight to a&e (or your equivalent!) Hope she feels better soon!

I would take her in only because of her age and wanting to be 100% sure it's not pertussis.

because she is only 14 wks i would at least call and make the dr. aware of the situation. my dr's office would probably have me bring her in.

I'm suspecting A (14w) may have croup. She's been stuffy/junky (like she's sputtering on mucous) for about a week, off and on. This weekend she developed a cough that started out fine, but now it sounds pretty croup-y. It's not affecting her sleep, and she's not having any trouble breathing, and she hasn't had a fever. She's not coughing much, but when she does, it sounds like the tell-tale croup cough. And she sounds hoarse when she cries.

Last year I suspected D had croup and when I called the ped, they told me that it's a virus and will just run it's course, so I didn't even bother taking him in. I've been doing the same with A, just watching her to see if the symptoms escalate at all. So far, nothing and I think she sounded slightly better this morning.

Should I continue to wait it out, or should I call and have her checked out? Like I said, no fever, no trouble breathing, and other than a 4am wake-up this morning, she has been STTN like always!
