LO's 11 months old and we still use ours! I like being able to see her when she's sleeping.

I'll probably want to use it for a while... at least until she's 2. I'm very paranoid though.

My LO is almost 2 and we still use it since we can't hear from the family room where we watch TV. I think it just depends how your house is laid out and if you can hear them without a monitor.

LO is 7 months old and we stopped using the monitor when she was 5 months. Her crib is against a wall that is beside my bed and I found that all her little noises kept me from sleeping. When she does cry at night, I can hear it through the wall so I'm not worried about that. The only time we turn the monitor on is when we're in the kitchen cooking - other than that, I can always hear her.

there was a period of 6 months where we didn't use a monitor (around year and a half +) because charlie was sleeping so well. but he's 26 months now and we use one daily. part of it is that we can't hear him well, but it's still helpful to be able to see him to see if he's really up or just making noises... esp when he wakes up early!

some of the newer monitors have the ability to scan between 2 cameras. I have the Summer Infant BabyTouch, and you can connect up to 4 cameras on there.

That being said, I use it WITH the AngelCare because Im paranoid. We just dont use the parents units unless it starts beeping- we use the Video Monitor for that.

In my case, Id want some sort of handheld unit to see what the cry outs are as Liv does the same thing. Sometimes it sounds like she is awake and isnt, so I need something to check.

Hi all, quick question. When did you finally turn off your baby monitors? What age was your LO?

The reason I ask is that we have an Angelcare monitor and I have to return it and get a new one because I dropped the parents' unit. (Thank goodness for Toys R Us and their warranties!) I was thinking that it might be time to put the new monitor away as my LO is 1 yr old and his baby sister is coming in June. I would be able to hear him no problems.

Should I put it away or get a cheapie monitor for my son's room? (He also cries out in his sleep, so it does wake me up a lot)
