As well as "come and go" shower, I've heard. @locavore_mama, it's basically a very casual shower where people don't have to stay the whole time. And there isn't the traditional, sit and watch the opening of the gifts portion of the party.</p> <p>I'm kind of planning the same thing @ilovelettie. Opening the gifts as people arrive. I wonder if that will be awkward or, I dunno, not have a good flow? After our LO is born, my MIL planned on throwing us an open house shower/meet the baby party (which I assume is like a drop-in shower: people come whenever they want during the range and there's no real games/planned events, just food and socializing). I planned to open gifts as people arrived, then set them on a gift table so everyone can see them, but am open to other suggestions. I don't like that idea because, when I attend a shower, I like to see all the baby gifts.</p> <p>The suggestion is that I open gifts as people arrive.</p> <p>Worth noting that I had a baby shower a month ago that was supposed to be drop-in, but ended up more like a traditional baby shower because everyone stayed the whole time.</p> <p>Anyone else had a drop-in baby shower? How/when did you open the gifts? </p>
