I'm in (slightly less) drought stricken Southern CA, so I save every drop of water I can. Lo's bath doesn't take long to get hot, so it's really easy to get it a good temp.

It really does waste a bunch of water for us, but just because it takes our tub so long to get hot water. I agree, sometimes I use that as a chance to rinse out the tub.

Yeah, I don't like wasting all that water either, but I'll let it run for a few seconds whilst I rinse out the tub (I always like to do a quick rinse and wipe down with my hand before filling it). That takes about 5 - 10 seconds and by then the water's hot so it works perfectly.

@Boogs: I don't want to answer that!

It just seems so silly to me to run the water for a few minutes. You waste all that water!! Just add some hot water to warm it up. Our water heater is on the other side of the house so it takes a while to warm up.

Running the right temp first then plug. My tub has a hot handle and a cold handle so I am always mad scientisting it to get it right.

When you run a bath for LO (talking the big bath tub) do you get the running water to the right temp and then put the plug in to fill the tub? Or do you put the plug in immediately and then add extra hot water to balance out the cold water? My husband and I don't agree so I'm curious!
