I started looking 6 months before I needed care and I just barely found a place for my son. Luckily we're super happy with the place we ended up at, but we were definitely lucky. With LO1 I picked a place about 7 months before I needed it (at 6 months pregnant). They didn't even have any babies in their infant room and I was the only one on the list. By the time she started going at 4 months the infant room was full with a serious waiting list.</p> <p>By the time I got pregnant with #2 we had moved and we're using an in home daycare. I find that this is very dependant on the area you live in. I am wondering when to register/get on the list for daycare? With #1 I stayed home with him for a year so it wasn’t an issue. I have heard to get on lists early but I am not sure how soon is too soon. </p>
