@HabesBabe: @wonderstruck: @blackbird: @Ms. RV: Thanks so much. That was exactly what I needed to know. I'll plan it for the weekend after.

A lot of Catholics around here actually go to church Saturday vigil instead of Easter so I would not plan it then.

E's bday is on easter and we are definitely doing it the week after. A party PLUS easter is a lot of obligations for most families. Plus Friday is good Friday

Weekend after. I would definitely not schedule it for the day before Easter, especially being that she goes to a Catholic school - I was raised Catholic and the day before Easter was kind of a somber thing because it was after Jesus died (Good Friday) but before he had risen (on Easter.) Zero chance my mom would have let me attend a birthday party the day before Easter - and sometimes me birthday WAS the day before Easter! She would still pick a different weekend for my party.

Even though we're not religious, we still end up at a few family Easter gatherings firing that weekend. I would avoid it if you want a lot of her classmates to come.

My DD has a birthday in a couple of weeks. It falls right in the middle of the week when she will be out of school for spring break. We are considering doing a birthday party and inviting everyone in her class. However, the weekend before her birthday is Easter weekend. She goes to a Catholic school (even though we aren't catholic), and I don't know if it would be taboo or would mess with any Catholic traditions to do a party the day before Easter.
The weekend after her birthday is the last few days before schools starts. I'm thinking a lot of people may still be out of town. Which weekend would be smarter to schedule a party on?
