Hope your feeling better soon.

I'd send her. We are still only in daycare, but would never be going if I kept DS home for colds. Fevers, vomiting or diarrhea they don't take them and I think the same would go for pre school.

Every school I've been in (with students ranging in age from babies in day care-seniors in high school) had the same policy for teachers, that you had to stay home if you had a fever, vomiting or diarreah or anything really bad/contagious like strep or pink eye. But for colds/coughs everyone usually goes to school. I would assume the kids could follow the same guidelines!

I hope your LO feels better soon!

I'd send her. I don't count 99 as a fever. If she is acting very upset or very tired I'd keep her home, but otherwise those symptoms would be enough. hope you both feel better soon!

Going through this too, but no fever. I know exactly where she got her cold, from a kid in her class. So I don't mind sending her.

@BrandNewMom: @Dandelion: @sslm: thank you! She hasn't been in daycare so I'm new to this... I'm expecting a lot of sickness this fall as she builds up her immune system. Just wasn't sure what would be considered too serious to send to school. I feel like she's gonna be sick constantly :(

Fever (101.5 or higher), vomiting, diarrhea (more than twice in an hour or 3 times in 2 hours), severe emotional distress with sickness, extreme exhaustion with sickness are the ones I used to call home about when I was a preschool teacher!

Our daycare sends kids home when they have a fever so I keep her home if she has one. I don't keep her home for colds!

One week into preschool, LO has come down with a cold- sniffles, running nose, slight fever (99). She's otherwise playing/acting normal. I think she gave it to me, too, bc now I feel all congested and crappy too :(

At what point do I keep her from preschool? I'm thinking that if I kept her out for each cold/runny nose, she would never get to go :T I don't want to be that inconsiderate mom that sends her sick kid off to infect everyone, though.
