We also chart to avoid. My cycles have not returned yet, but I started noticing as soon as non-lochia CM appeared to be present. I mostly chart CM right now as LO doesn't STTN and I forget to temp. I took a postpartum class through Couple to Couple League and might contact my instructors again soon since I seem to have a new basic infertile pattern. I've been charting a little over a month. Not sure when my cycles will return, but I don't want ovulation to sneak up on me before I get my first pp period.

We chart to prevent, too. I started when my cycles resumed, just to get in the habit. But I started seriously again after X started STTN, and there was some predictability to our wake up time. But my problem is that my charts aren't as reliable as they used to be because out of the last 7 months, we've had 2 bouts of teething and 3 illnesses-- all of which has thrown off my chart for about a week, or more because my sleep is so disrupted since his is so disrupted. (February was a complete throwaway month for me, basically.)

Charting when you already have a LO is way harder than I imagined, but I'm hoping that it gets easier as sleep becomes more predictable and X gets older. Anyway, good luck!

ETA: Missed the part that your LO STTN. If that's the case, then it seems like there's no reason to delay charting again.

LO is 4 months old and usually sleeps from 9:30-6:00. My period has been back for about 2 months now. We used charting for 18 cycles to prevent pregnancy and then used it to get pregnant.

Part of me is tempted to start again, but at the same time, I relish every minute of sleep.

When did you start charting again? We'd be charting to prevent.
