Depending on how competitive it is in your area, I would say start looking 6-8 weeks before the start date. I would just do a few days at home with the nanny so she can see your routine and ask questions, you could also do a few half days with you home and half while you are out to give your LO an adjustment period. One thing I have learned for sure around here is that you should have a 1 month trial period in the contract so that you don't get stuck with someone who isn't going to work out.

When do I start looking for a nanny if I need one starting in August? How long of a trial do we do? (Eg. Where I'm at home and the nanny is also here).
