Awesome! So do you sleep with the pump right next to you? I pumped once about an hour ago while feeding him on the other side and got almost 3 oz! I'm stupidly proud of that considering I would get an ounce at most with our first baby.

First thing in the morning works best for me output-wise. I am not coordinated enough to pump while feeding, it's too much to juggle. Usually I feed LO on one side then pump the other when he wakes up in the morning.

I started by pumping both sides after the first morning feed, because I found that after a rest (ha!) my supply was a little better. I can't remember where I read it but it was recommended somewhere. I was able to pump 3oz, enough for another full feed, after spending about 12 mins on each breast for a total of 24 mins. I avoid pumping in the evening because I like to be able to fill him up well when nursing in the hope that he will sleep well! Good luck ☺

Okay, please help. My EBF baby is 6 weeks and I'm just ready to start the dreaded pumping. When should I pump for maximum output? I have a single pump. Should I pump one side while baby feeds on the other? Should I pump after a feed? Start now (evening) or in the morning? How often should I pump? Tell me everything! Last time I barely responded to the pump and then had to throw out my stash anyway due to MPSI. Hoping for better results this time.
